South of the Border Spiced Nuts


2 cups almonds, cashews or a mixture of raw nuts of your choice, approximately the same size

2 Tbsp Flying Olive's Cayenne Red Chili EVOO

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp ginger

2 tsp sugar

1-2 tsp Kosher salt

*½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional) for those who like things super hot!*


Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.  Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, add the nuts and pour Flying Olive's Cayenne Red Chili EVOO over the nuts.  Toss to mix.

Transfer the nuts/chili oil mix to a new bowl.

Mix the spices together and then sprinkle it on top of the nuts.  Mix the nuts until coated with the spices.

Spread the nuts mixture on the cookie sheet.  Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring half-way through, until the nuts are crisp and slightly browned.  Transfer the nuts to a cool flat surface (a plate will do) to cool so they will not continue to cook.

Store in an airtight container.
