Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Cardamom

I can hear you saying, “Cardamom is for cookies and baked goods.” Give it a chance in this recipe. It gives the salmon a rich, warm flavor. The photo shows the salmon with Low Carb Paleo Pilaf--Barb L.


1-2 tsp Flying Olive Mild-Medium Single Varietal of Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Flying Olive Flavored Extra Virgin of Choice

4 (6 oz) salmon filets (use the “middle pieces” with approximately the same thickness so they will cook more evenly)

Salt and pepper

½ tsp ground cardamom

1 lemon, juiced


Set the grill or grill pan on medium-high. Brush with Flying Olive Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Let the pan heat until the oil begins to shimmer.

Season salmon with salt, papper, and cardamom. Squeeze with the lemon juice.

Grill each side for 3-4 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. When done, serve.
