Steamed Broccoli with Lemon and Garlic Crumbs

1 pound broccoli florets

1 Tbsp Flying Olive Butter or Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil or a Combination

1 clove garlic, minced

½ cup panko bread crumbs

1 tsp grated lemon zest

¼ tsp salt


Bring 1” of water to a boil in a large pot. Place the broccoli florets in a steamer basket and set it into the pot. Cover and cook until the broccoli is crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Meanwhile, place the Flying Olive Extra Virgin Olive Oil(s) in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until just fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the panko breadcrumbs to the skillet. Increase the heat to medium and cook, stirring often, until the crumbs are lightly toasted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the lemon zest and salt.

Serve the broccoli sprinkled with the toasted crumbs.
